BREAKFAST With Santa

Updated: Oct 11, 2019

By Hannah Fellinger

Last Saturday on December 1st, from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Pottsboro High School hosted their 3rd annual Breakfast with Santa. This fundraiser was ran by FCCLA to raise money for the Christmas Assistance Program at Lakeway Resale Barn. Students and the community are urged each year to come eat and take pictures with Santa! FCCLA served unlimited pancakes, bacon, juice, and coffee for only five dollars in the Pottsboro High School commons. Pictures with Santa were free and donations were happily accepted. The event ran smoothly and was very successful.

Each year, this event is centered towards the Lakeway Resale Barn in Pottsboro, Texas, as they work to provide families with meals and toys for their children. FCCLA and the Lakeway Resale Barn are filled with overflowing joy each year to partake in this event and love to see children receive their gifts. They continue to run this program each year because they find it to be very humbling to watch families receive food, and to give back to the community.

To get involved in the future, you can find Angel Trees at the local churches Georgetown Baptist and Lakeway Methodist. You can also contact the resale barn as well. Families range in sizes and all who volunteer are given a list of the toys that children want. The event usually last through November. Pottsboro ISD would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you have a blessed New Year.
